The Governorship of Wisconsin has been bought and paid for, showing that, at least in this instance, money trumps people. ......MB
Walker outspent Barrett by a 7-to-1 margin, which may be a sign of things to come for the 2012 election season.
The power of Citizens United brought $30 million to the Walker campaign, most of which came from the Koch brothers Super PAC and sources outside of Wisconsin.
Tom Barrett’s funding came primarily from inside Wisconsin, and only totaled $5 million.
Scott Walker’s victory is bad news for Wisconsin unions, since Walker and the Republican Party will likely use the win to further shrink union membership and rights.
However, while Wisconsin will retain a Republican governor, exit polls showed that President Obama was still favored over Mitt Romney by a 54% to 42% margin, in the November presidential race.
