What I'm Doing..And Why.

I'm studying the Crusades, Afghanistan and economics.
The Crusades offer at least a partial glimpse into why Muslims are afraid of us.
Coming out of Afghanistan is a group called RAWA who oppose the Taliban, Karzai and U.S. involvement in Afghanistan, particularly the killing of innocent Afghans.
The Revolutionary Association of Afghan Women.
They aren't leftists, they aren't hard right, either.
They just want peace in their time.
Like many women they show extraordinary courage, many have been killed.
Many have been brutalized in different ways.
These brave women fight on, shaming, in my opinion, the men who try to terrorize them.
Some people trivialize the battle for women's rights in Afghanistan.
They say that brutalizing and enslaving women is "Just their way, and we have to respect it."

Everyone who reads the paper knows what happens to women in Islamic countries, and Afghanistan is the worst of them.
RAWA has asked U.S. military Officers to provide security for the girls going to school.
"Can't do it." the women are told.

If what I am learning about Afghanistan is true, the U.S. needs to change the mission, at the very least.
Stay tuned.
