Keep Religion Out of Politics

My thanks for the heads up about Bush and the religious motivations vis a vis Iraq go to Cat Estanol, an RN currently serving the poor in Guatemala.

Why do people return to this Blog? It’s not because they agree with my politics. I am to the left of some of my viewers and to the right of others.

I think it’s the honesty.

If I print it as a fact, it’s a fact.

So here we go.

The damage Bush has caused to our country goes on. We have sifted through the mountains of evidence, and the changing stories, by the Bush Administration as to why we abandoned the successful effort in Afghanistan to begin a conflict in Iraq which will definitely cost many more lives and will eventually result in a radical Islamist theocracy.

Evidence exists that Bush believed G-d told him to go to Iraq.

Gog and Magog.

The final battle. Like the Shiites only different supernatural characters.

Estimates are in the neighborhood of a million Iraqis killed. Nearly 5,000 American young people died.

The lesson from this?

Keep religion out of politics. Even if you believe in one god or another, it will be people who tell you what that god wants, and, as we all know, people are often wrong.
